Hello! My name is Amanda Nehring. I’m a caring, energetic, and passionate literacy professional who helps children become confident readers and writers. With highly personalized, evidence-based instruction, I support students in developing the skills they need to succeed and rediscover the joy of learning along the way.
I began my career as a first-grade teacher over 20 years ago. After excelling in the classroom, I was invited to join the leadership team as Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Staff Development, and Assessment for two K–8 campuses.
A visit to a Pennsylvania school for children with dyslexia became a pivotal moment in my career. I was encouraged to apply for the Michael Pressley Memorial Fellowship, where I collaborated on literacy research that I later co-presented at the International Reading Association and the Literacy Research Association. Today, I serve as a Literacy Specialist for Classical Academy.
For more than a decade, I have helped children with dyslexia and other learning differences overcome challenges and experience success. I have spent countless hours researching effective literacy practices, refining my instruction, and learning how to meet each child’s unique needs.
I am a certified teacher with two master’s degrees, one in Reading and Literacy Education and another in Administrative Leadership with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. I also hold a Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential. In addition, I am a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner, trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, and a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist.
My approach is compassionate, individualized, and effective. I take the time to understand how each student learns, identify the skills they need, and create instruction that helps them make meaningful progress. Just as importantly, I help children rebuild their confidence and begin to see themselves as capable readers and writers.
Parenting is one of the most rewarding and challenging adventures I have ever experienced. I understand how difficult it can be to watch your child struggle. You do not have to navigate that journey alone.
I’m here to help your child develop strong literacy skills, rebuild their confidence, and recognize the capable reader and writer they can become.

It has been a blessing to have you work with Grey. Your expertise, passion, and gutsy-ness make for a fierce and powerful combination. Thank you for investing so much of yourself and for your positive attitude, sense of humor, and flexibility!
